This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week and we are so grateful our amazing PTA for coordinating efforts to bring the absolute best experiences to our students, staff and families! Did you know there are 16 active committees that make up our Executive Committee? We have Banking, Book Fair, Citizenship, Enrichment,Family Fun Night, Fundraising, Fun Field Day, Holiday Workshop, Hospitality, Recycle, Reflections, Saturday Scholars, Student Appreciation, Teacher Appreciation, Variety Show and Yearbook. Some volunteers are chairs or co-chairs of multiple committees. Please consider this an invitation to get involved and join a welcoming, great group! In addition to PTA, thank you to all who step up to help with classroom parties and events. We are grateful!

Enrollment numbers for Kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year are down. With our current numbers we will only have one kindergarten next year. Help us spread the word to families you know in the Steenrod district with children who will be 5 years old by July 1. We would love for them to come and see what a great school we have! #choosetobesteenrod

Make plans to come to the Celebration of the Arts on Thursday, March 27 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Wheeling Park High School. You will be amazed at the talent from the primary grades through high school. Our 5th grade county chorus will perform at approximately 6:00 p.m.

We are looking forward to an evening to celebrate family and healthy habits! This evening will take place from 6:00-8:00 with interactive sessions and informational booths. Save the date, and choose to be healthy!

3rd-5th grade participated in the school spelling bee today! Congratulations to Owen Sengewalt who was our first place winner and Easton Gessler, our runner up. Both boys will participate in the County Spelling Bee next Thursday!

This week our Spotlight shines on Mrs. Wade and Ms. Corrie, part of our 2nd Grade Team!

This map will be helpful for families who are coming to the Awards Ceremony for the Social Studies Fair on Monday. Allow yourself about 5-10 minutes to walk across campus after parking (WLU may have golf carts available to help transport). Students will be bussed to WLU, leaving Steenrod at 9:00. Students will have lunch provided by West Liberty University. Please email Mrs. Dietrich with any questions, mdietric@k12.wv.us.

We are SO proud of all of our students who chose to participate at the County Level for the Science Fair! There were over 80 projects!
