Two years ago, these boys (first graders at the time) had a vision - they wanted to build a buddy bench for the school playground. The idea is that a child could sit down if they were feeling lonely or needed someone to play with. Due to COVID, we were unable to build the bench, but we are super grateful to Jayden's mom for providing us with a bench! Within 5 minutes of the original photo/reveal, the bench was already in use!

Last night at the Ohio County School’s Board Meeting, Mindy Iverson Leader of Literacy/Reading Interventionist, was recognized as Steenrod’s Teacher of the Year and Flora Shoe, Sign Language Interpreter, was recognized as Steenrod’s Service Personnel of the Year.
Both of these ladies were chosen because of their tireless dedication to the students at Steenrod. We appreciate all that they do for our school community!

Students at Steenrod were thrilled with a science show presented by Robert and Libby Strong from the Smart Centre! We appreciate Jacob’s hard work on the Smart 529 essay which was the inspiration for the show!
