Full text of this evening’s call: Good evening Cardinal Families!
Our first day with Kindergarten went amazingly well. They have learned so many new routines and must surely be a little tired. Tomorrow, we are welcoming ½ of our PreK students. Please note that PreK drop off is in the front of the building as well. K-5 uses the outside lanes in the parking lot and PreK will use the inside lanes. Don’t worry – just go slowly and we’ll redirect you if necessary.
Students in 4th and 5th Grade brought home scores from the General Summative Assessment today. Make sure to check their folders. These provide you with information about how they performed on the test at the end of last school year. Please contact me at the school office if you have any questions.
For pick up at the end of the day, our PreK dismisses beginning at 2:15. If you are picking up for grades K-5, please wait until 2:30. As a reminder, we get most traffic flowing at approximately 3:10 so a later arrival helps with congestion on National Road and Clarks Lane. Car riders should be picked up by 3:25.
Thank you for returning the 50/50 tickets you have sold for the Steak Fry. Soon we will send an order form home so that you can purchase tickets to attend the steak fry. We are still looking for donors for raffle baskets and volunteers for the event. We are hoping each grade level can help us put together a themed basket - later this week you will receive a list of suggested items. Of course, this is optional! We appreciate the help if you are able. All the information you need is on our Cardinals in Motion Facebook page.
Finally, this year, we are electing two parents to our Local School Improvement Council. If you are interested in serving a two year term, or have questions, please get in touch with me. I need to have names of interested parents by September 7.
Have a great evening!

West Virginia state legislature mandates that each school has a Local School Improvement Council (LSIC) of elected educational stakeholders. The purpose of LSIC is to foster collaboration between parents, school staff, and students to promote the educational goals of the school. LSIC meets a minimum of four times during the school year. The meetings are open to the public but only elected committee members may vote on motions. This year, we are electing two parent members for a two year term. Please contact Mrs. Dietrich by September 7 if you are interested in serving in this vital role. Elections will be held on Thursday, September 9.
